The Use of Generative Ai in the Development of Students’ Communicative Competence

Abstract

The article examines the potential of generative artificial intelligence in foreign language education aimed at developing students’ communicative competence. It analyzes contemporary approaches to integrating digital technologies into the educational process and reveals the role of generative models in shaping language skills. Special attention is given to the potential of artificial intelligence as a tool for formative assessment and as a means of fostering learner autonomy. The necessity of transforming pedagogical strategies in the context of educational digitalization is substantiated. The study concludes that generative AI can be highly effective when implemented under appropriate pedagogical conditions.
