Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technologies and online communication has significantly influenced lexical innovation across languages. In recent years, English technical neologisms have become an integral part of Uzbek digital discourse, particularly in social media platforms, online communities, and technology-oriented communication environments. This study investigates the communicative and pragmatic adaptation of English technical neologisms in Uzbek digital discourse, focusing on the mechanisms through which borrowed lexical items are integrated into everyday online interaction. The research examines the phonetic, morphological, semantic, and pragmatic transformations of English-derived terms such as bloger, kontent, trend, stream, hashtag, chatbot, and influencer within Uzbek-speaking digital communities. Using descriptive, comparative, and discourse-analytical methods, the study explores how these neologisms contribute to communicative efficiency, identity construction, and the expression of technological competence in online environments. Particular attention is given to the role of digital platforms in accelerating lexical borrowing and facilitating the emergence of hybrid linguistic forms that combine English lexical bases with Uzbek grammatical structures. The findings indicate that English technical neologisms are not merely lexical borrowings but dynamic communicative tools that undergo significant adaptation to meet the linguistic and cultural needs of Uzbek users. The study contributes to the understanding of digital language change, pragmatic linguistics, and contemporary neological processes in multilingual communication contexts.
