Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education has significantly transformed the methods and approaches used in language teaching and learning. In particular, English language teaching (ELT) has benefited from the emergence of AI-powered technologies that facilitate personalized learning, automated assessment, adaptive instruction, and interactive communication. This article examines the effectiveness of artificial intelligence technologies in English language teaching by analyzing their impact on learners’ language proficiency, motivation, engagement, and autonomous learning abilities. The study also explores the opportunities and challenges associated with the implementation of AI-based educational tools in language classrooms. The findings indicate that artificial intelligence contributes to improving learning outcomes by providing immediate feedback, individualized learning pathways, and enhanced accessibility to educational resources. At the same time, issues related to digital literacy, ethical considerations, and technological dependence require careful attention. The article concludes that AI should be considered a complementary educational tool that supports teachers and enriches language learning experiences rather than replacing human interaction in the classroom.
