Abstract

This article examines the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of children with intellectual disabilities. It analyzes scientific research on the development of higher mental functions and cognitive activity in this category of children. It also explores key areas of special education aimed at developing cognitive activity and social adaptation in students with intellectual disabilities.
